Guide to Disney Castaway Club: Membership Levels & Benefits

disney cruise line castaway club

Of course, there are exceptions to this, and military and Florida resident discounts are offered (usually for the Disney Dream). As a general rule, the cost on the first day of release is the lowest you will see it. Perhaps the most valuable of the Castaway Club perks are these first two. Sometimes Sailing is a cruise-focused website by Dan and Mikkel Woodruff, a couple passionate about cruising. The Membership level icon on the left and the right icon with Exclusive Benefits don't link anywhere, but if you scroll down on the page when you are logged in, you will see more information. The easiest way to look up your Castaway Club membership number is by logging into your Disney Cruise Line account.

Castaway Club Benefits – Prior to May 2017 (pdf)

However, as with any travel experience, there are some pros and cons to embarking on a magical Disney cruise. Over the past decade, I've taken eight Disney cruises with my family and friends. When I book, I always make sure Disney's private island in the Bahamas, Castaway Cay, is on the port of call. According to the planDisney video, the stateroom gifts will build based on the Castaway Club level.

Advanced Cruise Activity Booking

I share tips, reviews and videos so that you can have the best Disney travel experience. So you will see that you only have to sail on one cruise with Princess to get discounts on future cruises. Disney Cruises has added an additional benefit for those who have sailed 50 cruises and more. In days past they used to have these on all sailings which are 7 days or more. It used to be that Platinum Members had the excellent perk of automatically being allocated the earliest Port Arrival time and having a Group 3 boarding group.

Tips for Making the Most of Your Status

Gold Castaway Club benefits being after your fifth cruise, Platinum Castaway Club status following your tenth, and Pearl Castaway Club after you complete your 25th voyage. Once you reach Gold, you receive a small discount on select experiences and merchandise on board, generally about 10 percent. “To make the most of your status, I recommend visiting the Disney Cruise Line website to see your exclusive perks because sometimes they can change. He recently added the towel animal plush elephant to his collection. He even used his Platinum discount to purchase it himself,” says Tracie M.

Another one of the major Castaway Club benefits is being able to book activities on board the ship earlier than non-members. However, unlike some other cruise lines that discount unsold staterooms closer to the time of sailing, Disney tends not to have a lot of unsold staterooms – so very few discounts. This site focuses on small-format cruises and ship-within-a-ship concepts on large cruise ships, including special cruise experiences you can enjoy during your next vacation. However, the Castaway Club loyalty program is not nearly as robust as the frequent cruiser programs of many other well-known brands, such as Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line. If you're going to sail a lot with Disney, you'll want to do it because you love the brand, not because you expect a lot of onboard recognition for your loyalty.

Gold members also receive a Castaway Club lanyard denoting their tiered status, the tote bag gifted to Silver members, and a wet/dry bag. When it comes to booking a cruise vacation, it is all about personal preferences and desires. Cruise sailings onboard other cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean, can cost just as much as Disney Cruise Line depending on the chosen itinerary, ship, and cabin. Unlike some other cruise line loyalty programs, status is based on the number of cruises you take, not the number of days at sea.

Pro - Impressive and complimentary kids clubs

The third tier of the program, the Platinum level, extends the pre-booking windows even further. Platinum members are able to make advance bookings for onboard cruise activities up to 120 days before sailings. That's 15 days earlier than Gold members and 30 days earlier than Silver members.

Termination of Benefits

The benefits of being a Silver Castaway Club member include booking new itineraries one day before the general public. Silver members can book their Port Adventures, specialty dining, adult beverage seminars, spa services and other activities 90 days before the sailing. Early opportunity to book a Port Arrival Time (PAT) ( this benefit is currently paused due to the pandemic). Silver Castaway members also get an exclusive check-in desk at the terminal. A welcome-back gift and a silver lanyard are left in your stateroom for you.

Another fun perk of being part of Castaway Club is a gift awaiting your arrival in your stateroom. It's never guaranteed, and you never really know what you are going to get. Everyone on your cruise reservation will be enrolled in Castaway Club if it's their first cruise, no matter if it's an adult or child. Your membership numbers are sent to you after your first cruise. For Platinum members, check-in opens 38 days in advance of departures.

On a recent sailing, I saw Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy, and Pluto all in 30 minutes. I enjoy seeing the Disney characters on the ship, but love seeing Mickey and his pals even more at Castaway Cay. Speaking of gear, at Castaway Cay, cruisegoers can borrow free towels as soon as they get off of the ship.

Here’s everything you need to know about Disney Cruise Line’s Castaway Club, including membership tiers and exclusive perks. Disney Cruise Line is, in my personal opinion, a great cruise vacation for those guests traveling as a family, a couple looking for an adventure at sea, or a multi-generational family looking to make memories together. While Disney Cruise Line does have some impressive amenities and spaces just for children, adult guests are not forgotten onboard. I was surprised to find a large amount of bars, lounges, entertainment areas, and pools just for guests 18 years and older. However, adult guests can purchase a beer or wine drink package should they choose to, though neither is all-inclusive. Passengers can save up to 25% off when they purchase a wine or beer package.

They are also able to book new Disney cruise itineraries two days ahead of the general public. Pearl Castaway Club members can book new itineraries 4 days before the general public. Platinum will book 3 days prior, Gold 2 days and Silver 1 day before the general public.

Additionally, those looking for extra Disney magic can book a cruise to Lighthouse Point, Disney's second private destination nestled on the island of Eleuthera. Featuring all-new amenities and activities ashore, Lighthouse Point is sure to entice as well as excite Disney Cruise Line passengers. Unless specifically requested, guests will most likely be automatically assigned to larger tables with at least one other travel group or family. Guests can request a private table for just their travel party, but these requests can not always be accommodated. They utilize a classic cruise and nautical design throughout their vessels, as well as supplying guests with that all-important Disney feel.

Caribbean & Central America Cruises

cruise in the caribbean

Many people would agree with me that a Caribbean cruise is the perfect antidote to the winter doldrums and work stress, plus a wonderful way to reconnect with friends and loved ones. The ship takes care of everything -- transportation, accommodation, meals and entertainment – so you can skip much of the daily planning drama and simply enjoy your vacation and travel companions. Every day you wake up to warm weather and sunny skies (well, most of the time) and a new destination promising white sand beaches, fun activities and memories to be made.

2024 Caribbean Cruises

Rent an overwater cabana for the day at  the Coco Beach Club on CocoCay in the Bahamas, or relax with a cocktail in hand on this natural coral island at any of the island's white sandy beaches. Deciding which beach is your personal favorite is all part of the fun. Curated sailings range from fun-filled 3-night weekend getaways to 12-night journeys where you’ll relish in an in-depth Caribbean escape. Whether you choose the Eastern, Southern, Western Caribbean, or The Bahamas for your vacation, we have the best Caribbean cruises with adventure-filled itineraries to satisfy every island-hopping traveler. A single cruise line might call at 20 to 30 different ports in the Caribbean. Although you might think they all look like stock photos of white sand beaches with palm trees and blue skies, each island has its own look, culture and vibe.

Caribbean cruise guide: Best itineraries, planning tips and things to do

Fall invites the adventurous to immerse themselves in the islands. Cruise the Caribbean throughout the year, and you’ll encounter a different side of the Caribbean each time, unified by the distinctive experiences Princess offers. Even though ports in this region are open year-round, the best time to cruise the Caribbean depends on your budget, weather preferences and how much you're willing to tolerate crowds. To avoid rainy and stormy weather, think carefully about hurricane season, which occurs from May through November, and be sure to check out our guide to cruising during hurricane season. While you're unlikely to experience major disruptions, and summer is a popular time to cruise the Caribbean, there are some things to consider.

Carnival Paradise left her homeport of Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 20, for the 5-night Western Caribbean sailing. After visiting Roatan on Monday, the ship is scheduled to visit Cozumel, Mexico on Tuesday before another day at sea. Because Carnival Paradise was on a scheduled day at sea, the time spent with the rescue operation will not significantly impact the ship’s itinerary. Cruise ships typically travel more slowly on sea days (when operationally possible) to make outside deck conditions more enjoyable for guests.

Caribbean Cruise Travel Tips & Advice

Sun, sand and sea are what most travelers want when they book a cruise to the Caribbean. If you want to trade chilly weather at home for warm, sunny days spent relaxing on a beach or swimming in clear blue waters, a Caribbean cruise is an ideal vacation. Unlike a resort stay, you can sample multiple beaches in various destinations, as well as the pool life on board the ship. Relax on gorgeous white sand beaches surrounded by crystal clear waters, discover the ancient treasures of the Mayans, or let your cares melt away while relaxing to steel drum melodies. Lauderdale, Port Canaveral, or Galveston to suit your vacation desires.

A Guide to the Best Places to Visit in the Caribbean

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, the first full day of her current sailing, Carnival Paradise rescued 27 refugees from Cuba while the cruise ship was sailing west of the island nation en route to Roatan, Honduras. Celebrate the diverse cultural heritage—British, Mayan, Spanish, Taíno, African, Emberá—of the Caribbean and Central America, in ports from San Juan to Colón. Gain an intimate view through carefully curated itineraries, more time in port and enriching excursions on land and sea. Sail to the destination of your dreams from the departure port that works best for you. Similar to a traditional all inclusive vacation, food and entertainment on board is included in your cruise fare.

From mofongo, a dish from Puerto Rico made from mashed fried plantains, pork and garlic, to the famous jerk chicken of Jamaica, we serve the Caribbean's favorite flavors to you on board. Thanks to Princess' world-class chefs you'll enjoy fresh, locally inspired dishes for your entire voyage. Let the soft sands and warm winds melt all your worries away. The beaches of the Caribbean are legendary for their natural beauty and tranquil turquoise waters.

If you prefer your relaxation more active, we offer Zumba, yoga and tai chi classes to burn off stress and raise your heart rate. Lose yourself in the tones of Calypso steel drums and the majesty of Mayan ruins with a cruise to Caribbean.

Join a gourmet walking tour of Charlotte Amalie in the U.S. Virgin Islands to learn about its culinary culture, or stroll through the Queen Elizabeth II Botanical Park on Grand Cayman. Learn about spice cultivation in Grenada or join a nature walk in Barbados. It doesn’t matter how many times you visit the Caribbean—you will never run out of things to do. Over the course of one day in Key West, you can experience the joie de vie of the southernmost city in the continental United States.

You can head to the beach, go scuba diving or snorkeling or head to the mainland to see Mayan cultural sites like Tulum and Chichen Itza. Stick around town to find cheap drinks at Senor Frog's or shop for souvenirs. Luxury lovers should look at the smaller ships of the Seabourn, Silversea and Regent Seven Seas fleets for opulent accommodations and fine dining while sailing the tropics. Oceania, Azamara and Windstar Cruises are less inclusive, but still high end. You'll be hard-pressed to find a cruise line that does not sail to the Caribbean at least for a few months a year.

For any Caribbean cruise, you'll want to pack lightweight clothes and walking shoes to keep you cool and comfortable during shore excursions and daytime activities. If you plan on going to the beach or water parks, swimsuits are also an essential. Start your exciting adventure with an exciting 2-hour Polaris buggy ride through the countryside and local villages.

So if you’re sailing a Carnival brand and headed to the area, then this is where you’ll stop. To be honest, just about the only thing Amber Cove is truly missing is the beachfront. Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry. Since the start, it's been our aim to provide the latest cruise news covering all the major cruise lines.

Next to the splash pad is a half basketball court and giant chess set for more fun and games. Around the pools, there were more than enough lounge chairs. We were the only ship in port that day, but it seemed like there were enough loungers for three or four ships’ worth of passengers. But being the only ship, we enjoyed the extra space and extra chairs to spread out.

The extra coast for an additional person varies between $4.00 (ride to the Teleferico) and $10 (to Cabarete). Other attractions can definitely be discovered on your own, for less money and/or with more flexibility. Some sacred sites like the Synagogue in Sosua, beaches like Maimón (within walking distance), or activities like golfing at the Playa Dorada Golf Course are not offered on Shore Excursions. The zip line starts higher up the hill and costs $20 for an all-day pass, unless you’ve purchased a cabana for the day and your pass is included. If you only want to ride it once, sorry… it’s still $20, so you might as well enjoy it a few times. For smaller kids, keep in mind you have to be at least 80 lbs to ride the zip line. Amber Cove was clearly designed with kids and families in mind. Just on the other side of the main pool, across a short bridge over the lazy river, there’s a splash pad with a splash bucket and a mini slide for the littlest ones to enjoy.

End your adrenaline-packed visit beneath a thatched roof, snacking on local fruits from an organic fruit platter. Your guide will lead you on a canyoning experience through narrow passages, flooded caverns and natural waterslides. Wearing a helmet and life vest is mandatory and they are provided. Once your small group dolphin encounter is over, you can spend the rest of the day at Ocean World Adventure Park. Watch dolphins, sea lions and tropical birds in various shows, stroll through the aviary of exotic birds or go snorkeling in the Tropical Reef Aquarium.

The cruise terminal in La Romana is reasonably close to two international airports (La Romana International Airport and Punta Cana Airport), both with excellent worldwide connections. La Romana airport is 5 miles northeast of the cruise terminal and has daily direct flights to and from Miami. Cruise passengers that prefer to explore ports on your own will find it straightforward to travel to most attractions close by Amber Cove. There are public buses, which can be complicated to navigate unless you are a fluent Spanish speaker but there are Taxis and Car Rental available. Your cruise ship will dock on a 1280 feet (ca. 390 meters) L-shaped pier, parallel to the coast, with quays for 2 ships to berth.

Local Delicacies at Amber Cove

In the winter months, from December to May, Caribbean cruises are particularly popular and are the best months weather-wise to visit Amber Cove. For the ultimate adventure, this trip lasts 6.5 hours and includes riding aboard a giant 6×6 Mega Tiger Truck to the waterfalls of Damajagua. See carvings etched by Mother Nature and slide into 7 of the clear waterfall lagoons. This exciting experience includes feeding and playing with the dolphins and enjoying a boogie-board ride through one of the largest man-made dolphin lagoons in the world. Other local highlights to see include Fort San Felipe and the gushing Damajagua Falls.

If you can, try to go outside and watch the ship pull into Amber Cove. There’s something magical about watching the Dominican mountains and palm trees grow closer as the ship inches toward the pier. You feel like you’ve stepped right into the jungle of Jurassic Park, which makes sense when you learn that some of that movie was filmed in Puerto Plata. To avoid the Dominican Republic's rainy season, plan your cruise between the months of December and April when conditions are dryer and less humid. Full training is given before you launch yourself from the platforms in the treetops at heights of up to 90 feet above the ground. The longest zipline runs for 850 meters and is one of the longest in the country.

The port will be able to host two cruise ships at a time and give cruisers a unique experience both inside and outside of the port. Cruise passengers wondering what to do on a cruise to La Romana will find that some attractions are better to enjoy with cruise excursions. That's the case if you wish to explore the highlights of Santo Domingo, enjoy a beach break in Catalina Island, or kayak in the Chavón River. But there are experiences that cruise visitors can easily enjoy independently or on their own. Booking any type of cabana (poolside, ocean, or grand) also comes with free all-day zipline passes for anyone over 14 years old. One of the more popular attractions on this side of the port is the massive “Amber Cove” sign at the end of the shopping center.

Around the port there is very little, although there is a resort right next door. Apart from that, it’s largely open space with hills and pastures. As a result, if you want to go anywhere outside the port, you’ll need some sort of transportation. Let’s be honest — the crew members don’t care about swim-up pool bars, zip-lining, or souvenir shops. When the ship is in port, they often look for a drugstore to buy the medicine and goods that they need  and a place onshore to relax if they have the afternoon off. The crew area in Amber Cove hits all those points, so kudos to Carnival for not ignoring their own family here.

Sanocho is a popular Latino American dish that has the consistency of a thick soup made from stewed meats and local vegetables such as yucca and plantain. If you visit the Information Center at Amber Cove, you can get your passport stamped with an unofficial stamp showing that you visited Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. There are plenty of wood carvings and “faceless dolls,” which are signature souvenirs in the Dominican Republic.

A few months ago I visited the port of Amber Cove in the Dominican Republic for the first time during a seven-night sailing on Carnival Breeze. You must have a passport to travel on a cruise to or within the Dominican Republic. Bring a towel and visit Pirate’s Pool and enjoy a swim in the calm Dolphin Beach Lagoon. The Marketplace has excellent retail outlets, including arts and crafts by local artisans.

Storylines Live On A Cruise Ship

storylines cruise

Many of us have placed a bookmark in our plans for adventure to build a career, to care for children or aging parents, or to pursue other interests that have temporarily paused part of our story. Storylines was conceived as a high end cruise line designed specifically for living aboard. Global travelers can now rediscover their deep passion for exploration while still maintaining work/life obligations. Averaging three days in each port, you have ample time and options to explore the cultures and customs beyond our ports-of-call. Or simply enjoy the most beautiful scenery on the planet from the comfort of your new home aboard Storylines exclusive around the world cruise ship.

Storylines Insider

Welcome to Storylines luxury residential community at sea. Storylines is building a luxury community at sea, which features 547 residences, eleven different floor plans, ranging from studios to 2-level, 4 bedroom penthouse-style homes and everything in-between. The ship will have 20 restaurant and bar concepts, three swimming pools, a helipad, bowling alley, movie theater, microbrewery, and a 10,000 book library. The ship will also grow its own produce thanks to a solar-powered hydroponic garden. The state-of-the-art, 10,000’ Health & Wellness Center will include alternative treatments, a spa, salon, juice bar, fitness center and will be the Largest Wellness Center at Sea. When cruise ships became "floating petri dishes" and cruise lines halted global operations in 2020, Storylines saw an opportunity.

Wellness and Spa

The team planned to buy a 53-year-old cruise ship named Marco Polo — but aborted the plan when they realized what an expensive nightmare refurbishing it would be. Their next pick, the 27-year-old Grand Classica, was abandoned after they realized that it, like many other used ships, would not meet future environmental regulations. Residents can dine at 20 restaurants, browse the farmers market sourced from the ship's hydroponic gardens, or spend the day curled up in the 10,000-book library. The ship promises to lengthen residents' lives through an "antiaging global lifestyle" that includes bioidentical hormone-replacement therapies and the world's largest dedicated wellness spa at sea. And then there's the accredited K-12 private school where children study at least two languages, multiple musical instruments, and even African basket weaving.

Spontaneous Adventures

Some former employees said they'd warn against anyone trusting Storylines with their money or well-being. One employee who quit last year said it was "everyone's dream" for the company to succeed. Storylines has "sold this idea to too many people for them to say, we couldn't get this done," he added. If the cofounders backed down, he said, it "would burn everything behind" them. Another Storylines employee at the time said Lee had told him he would "get laid every night" if he moved to Wrocław. The now-former employee told Lentz about the conversation and declined to move, finding Lee "off-putting as hell."

Features

Storylines consistently receives interest from people who want to live aboard MV Narrative part of the year. It has always been our goal to make this lifestyle accessible to a wide variety of like-minded global citizens of the world. When designing a cargo ship, you don't care about how it looks inside, whereas the interior of a residential ship is the main focus because it's someone's home.

Our residents pay for the ship’s operation so we are well prepared and plan to continue operating through any pandemic. Our itinerary may be affected but that is the most impact we anticipate to our operations. In a worst case scenario, the ship will relocate to an island nation where we will live as temporary residents and live like locals for however long it takes until we can resume travel. To learn more about our pandemic protocols including health, safety and technology, please click here. This type of work can only be done at certain points when the ship is in a dry/wet docking period.

You Can Now Buy a Vacation Home on a Cruise Ship Sailing Around the World

By late 2019, Storylines realized if it wanted a luxury ship in good condition, it would have to build the vessel itself. Lee and Punton partnered with Tillberg Design of Sweden, the famed luxury cruise-ship design firm, to craft a ship called MV Narrative. It would not only meet sustainability benchmarks by using liquefied natural gas, but it would also ban single-use plastics. Designing the ship allowed Storylines to make it more suited for permanent life at sea, with gardens and resident lounges. Today, many of these supporters have lost faith in the founders.

He's trading that in for a level of comfort he's looking forward to as a part-time resident aboard the MV Narrative. Once MV Narrative’s residences are sold out, future residents may opt to join a chartered vessel suitable for this purpose. Storylines Residential Ship, MV Narrative, is like no other!

The ones on the MV Narrative are expected to grow lettuce, beans, tomatoes, cucumbers, and strawberries. Considering they're spending at least $875,000 on an apartment, you'd expect residents to have extravagant requests for facilities. But most requests are mundane, while others are slightly unusual.

And with 20 dining options and bars, foodies can rest assured that their every culinary need and preference will be satisfied. The ship also has its own microbrewery and a solar-paneled, soil-less garden which will supply its eateries with fresh ingredients and craft beer. A zero-waste farmers market will also be available, offering local products. Other fun amenities aboard include a library, a marina with watercraft access, a movie theater, an art studio, and a bowling alley. The ship runs on liquid gas, which is more eco-friendly than conventional fuels.

You'll have plenty of options for places to interact with your neighbors or find a cozy spot to relax on your own. These include resident lounges on all resident decks, a world class library, quiet spaces, work lounges and more. The units are fully inheritable to future estates and beneficiaries, or may be sold at any time.

Top cruise lines are debuting longer itineraries with dozens of stops. The Regent Seven Seas has a wait list for the most expensive suites on its 154-night 2026 world cruise, where tickets cost up to $266,000. "The people who went West — who traveled by wagon, by train out West in pursuit of a dream — that's what we're all doing," Cosentino said.

Disembark and return at any time, simply advise our team of your plans. Storylines cruises slowly, based on the belief that it takes more time to know a destination than the 8 hours allowed by traditional cruise lines. We spend 1-5 days in each port with an average of three days, with most stops having at least one overnight stay. This unique approach allows you time to find your favorite coffee shop, see all of the sights at your own pace, and make new friends in exotic locations.

When The World was setting off on its first voyage, Punton and Lee were in their 20s, living in Queensland, Australia. Punton, typically outfitted in thin, rectangular glasses, started out as a real-estate agent. He went on to work in the glass and construction industries and cofounded an automated email marketing company. Lee, charismatic with dark, slicked-back hair, filed for personal bankruptcy in 2001 before building a career as a consultant working with distressed businesses. More than half of the ship's 530 units are claimed, Punton said in July. Mike Kasperzak, 70, a self-described retiree who doesn't play golf, signed up for a $1 million 700-square-foot unit in 2021.

Voyager of the Seas Cruise Ships

cruise voyager

Mariner of the Seas shares many of the same dining and lounge venues as Navigator of the Seas. Navigator of the Seas is perhaps the most modern Voyager Class ship due to her impressive amplification. Navigator differs the most from other Voyager Class ships in regards to her venues, layout, and decor. The Tavern bar and R Bar are bars that do not have a strong theme, but are a nice place to relax with a drink onboard. Giovanni’s Table is a classic Italian restaurant on Royal Caribbean’s ships, with menu highlights including grilled lamb chops, gorgonzola gnocchi, and linguini with clams.

Voyager-class cruise ship

I’d rather spend my money on other things, like specialty dining or activities, than pay for a larger or balcony cabin. Voyager Class ships have elegant design integrated throughout the ship, which brings a feeling of sophistication to the cruise experience. A great example of this is in the Main Dining Room, which were inspired by the design and layout of opera houses. There is also the Sky Climber, a climbing arena for kids to spend their day climbing up, down, and around on the sports deck.

Ship Info

Here, guests can put a VR headset on and jump up and down on the Sky Pad’s trampolines while playing games in a series of virtual reality simulations. She is the only Voyager Class ship to offer not only Izumi sushi, but hibachi. Guests can reserve a dining time at Izumi Hibachi, where a chef cooks your meal right in front of you.

EXTENDED FAMILIES

When Voyager of the Seas debuted in 1999, she turned the cruising world upside down. This was the ship that introduced the idea of having an ice-skating rink at sea, rock climbing wall at sea, and indoor promenade. And while Voyager Class ships offer fun-filled activities onboard, they also offer plenty of areas for rest and relaxation. The Promenade Deck on Voyager Class ships is large and circles around the entire ship.

Royal Caribbean emailed me multiple times about this inspection, so I knew it was going to happen. The Voyager Class ships, although considered “smaller” when compared to newer Royal Caribbean ships, are still massive vessels with tons of activities offered onboard. Not too big and not too small, they are an excellent option for first-time cruisers.

In addition, hammocks and other nice seating are found on Mariner of the Seas. She is also the only Voyager Class ship to have hot tubs on the running deck which overlook the pool area. In addition, the top deck of The Lime & Coconut was transformed into a lounge area with comfy seating, tables, and lights. The other Voyager Class ships do not offer pool activities for children still in diapers. Adventure of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas both have a kids area on the pool deck.

Poolside, a live band plays a blend of American and Caribbean songs. The 3400-passenger ship Voyager OTS has been bypassed in size by the Freedom-class and the world's largest Oasis-class liners. However, it's still between the largest ships in the world, with a range of the most un-cruise-like places at sea. When I cruised on Adventure of the Seas, my food was either a hit or miss in regards to the temperature. Our cabin was in the very front of the ship, overlooking the helipad. We were on the ninth deck, which was ideal because we weren't far from public venues.

Seven Seas Voyager Review

The Adventure Ocean programming on Navigator was modernized during the amplification as well, and features a kid's rock climbing wall as wall as an outdoor deck for teens. Like Explorer of the Seas, the full amplification of Adventure of the Seas has been delayed. When the Royal Amplified program restarts, though, many of Royal Caribbean's newest dining venues, bars, and activities are expected to be added to the ship. The Connoisseur Club is a lounge onboard where guests can relax while smoking cigars.

How much does it cost to go on Marella Voyager?

Voyager of the Seas is bright and breezy and caters to a diverse range of cruisers with ease. With a focus on fun, socializing, and spending time together, it's a ship where the good times roll. Whether you are holidaying with the kids, cruising with friends, or seeking an entertaining getaway with your partner, this ship delivers. Whether you cruise multiple times per year or you're new to cruising, the goal of Royal Caribbean Blog is for it to be a useful resource for keeping up to date with what's new and exciting with Royal Caribbean.

Four days before embarkation, my dad and I placed bids on four stateroom categories. For an additional $130 per person, we upgraded to a spacious ocean view cabin. When I originally booked this cruise, I selected an interior guarantee cabin for me and my dad. This type of cabin is usually what I select for my cruises because it is the cheapest option.

Follows the complete list of Voyager of the Seas lounges, clubs and other entertainment venues for kids, teens and adults. Johnny Rockets (capacity 80 seats/1950s-style burger bar) was another specialty restaurant selling fast food favorites like hot dogs, burgers, chilli fries, onion rings. However, this signature for RCI eatery was removed during the drydock refurb in 2019. Follows the complete list of Voyager of the Seas restaurants and food bars. There were also a lot of bridal parties and recently married couples celebrating. Like most cruises that leave from Galveston, we visited the Western Caribbean.

There are few Connoisseur Clubs left in Royal Caribbean’s fleet, so this may be replaced once the ship is amplified. MSC Cruises cancelled three sailings in April to avoid the Red Sea. Instead of going through the Middle East, the MSC ships will sail with no passengers on board and go around Africa. While cruises in the Middle East do not constitute a major region for sailings, it's certainly impacting many lines and people's vacations.

Voyager Class ships offer waterslides, FlowRiders, mini golf, rock climbing, pools, live music, ice skating shows, and more. Each ship’s pool deck also has a bar in the main pool area and another  bar on the running track deck which offers nice views of the pool and ocean. Each time you cruise with us, you will earn points to upgrade your membership level. You can collect points based on the type of MSC Experience purchased, onboard services prepaid before the cruise and onboard expenses. Points are credited at the end of the cruise, approximately ten days after the disembarkation date. In terms of look and feel, Marella Voyager doesn’t deviate far from its sister ships, and experienced Marella cruisers will also find plenty of familiar favourites on board.

While this is an older vessel (it was built in 1999), Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas underwent a $97-million refurbishment in 2019. In addition, the spa and gym were updated, and new Inside and Balcony cabins were added. The Royal Amplified program has set Voyager Class ships on par with some of the fleet’s newest ships.

On Adventure, you will find Splashaway Bay, an aqua park complete with waterslides and splash areas. Like other ships, activities including trivia, crafts, guest lectures, and live bands are offered on Voyager Class ships. Over time, though, Royal Caribbean realized the ships could use some updates. Navigator of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, and Voyager of the Seas have all recently been amplified through Royal Caribbean’s Royal Amplified program. In addition, many Voyager Class ships have recently been amplified and are filled with Royal Caribbean’s newest features and amenities. Let’s take a deep dive into the Voyager Class to see what these five impressive ships have to offer.

Rental Car Options: Fort Lauderdale or Orlando Airport to Miami Cruise Port

The City of Miami is huge, and even if you’re simply trying to get from your cruise terminal to the airport, or your hotel, there isn’t a whole lot of public transportation available.
